Our Focus

Matthew 5:16 - “Let your light shine before men in such a way

that they may see your good work, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”

Our Mission

“Building on the Lordship of Christ and relying on the power of the Holy Spirit, Duncan First Baptist seeks to be ‘A Light on the Hill’ shining forth our love for God and His Word, for one another, and for the nations.”

Our Core Values

We define our CORE VALUES based upon our desire to be “A Light on the Hill” in our community as well as in the world, and being committed to such desire, we as a church family will:

We will depend entirely upon the Holy Spirit of God to empower us to BE and to DO all that God has called us to be and to do in His Word.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

Colossians 1:28-29 - “We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For thispurpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.”

With the attitude of celebration and praise, we will worship God in spirit and in truth, obeying His command not to forsake our gathering together as His people.

John 4:23-24 - “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Hebrews 10:25a - “Not forsaking our own assembling together.”

God’s Word is spiritual food for God’s people. It is only as God’s Word is faithfully preached and taught to God’s people that they can truly grow as committed disciples.

Matthew 28:20a - “Teaching them to observe all that I commanded you.”

II Timothy 3:16-17 - “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”

Jesus taught us that we are to love others as we love ourselves. We will demonstrate God’s love by meeting spiritual, physical, and social needs of people within our church, community, and around the world.

Mark 12:31 - “The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

I John 3:18 - “Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.”

It is God’s desire that lost sinners are brought into a personal relationship with Him through faith in His Son. God wishes that no one should perish, but for all to come to repentance.

Matthew 28:19 - “Go ye therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

II Peter 3:9 - “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”
